Many tourists’ first feeling of Hokkaido is open and comfortable, particularly those who have been to Tokyo, Osaka and other cities, by contrast, Hokkaido is very quiet. In fact, the word “sparsely populated” is very appropriate to describe Hokkaido, which is located in northern part of Japan, an area accounting for one-fifth of Japan, but is only half the population of Tokyo, the population density is very low, but more population are concentrated in the center of Sapporo between Otaru and Asahikawa, so whenever the coaches on the highway, you can only see a neat and orderly terraces, and certainly not the bustling crowd.

In the past, many people selected to go to Hokkaido for skiing and hot springs in winter, or see the last quarter of the cherry blossoms in early May. In fact, it is also the popular tourist areas that apperciate flowers in summer in recent years. As the world’s second largest production base of lavender, Hokkaido will also usher the warmest lavender bloomseason, the flowers over the mountain will make people enjoy themselves so much as to forget to go home.
